Nuntius: August 2000

NUNTIUS

A monthly Newsletter from Robert Zoller
August, 2000

Nuntius is a 4-page newsletter containing mundane astrological forecasts and brief articles on medieval philosophy and modern occultism.

Timely remarks-

By the time you get this the August 1999 eclipse will have been in effect for a full 12 months. We still have another 18 to go, taking us through to February 2002. We have also had the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction last May and come September will find the third influence of some power coming into play.

From September we are entering a period of increased danger to us in the West. In an earlier Nuntius I said that there is an increasing threat to the US citizens and this is particularly so on the Eastern sea boarder. I have also said that this threat is linked not so much to a new boldness in terrorist planning but more to US incompetence. At that time I couched those remarks as being non-astrological so as to play down the warning but I say again as was said in the July Nuntius if the US does not cease acting incompetently, it will invite the depredations of adventurers such as Osama bin Laden and Saddam. This is a wake up call. Our way of life and cultural values (& our lives) are at stake.

As the next 12 months unfold we will see increased tension in those countries that fell under the path of the August 1999 eclipse but after the end of August 2001 this will take on a new twist and it will be the last 6 months of the eclipse effect that will be the worse.

After September 2001 when the first big crisis will have hit the US we will never be the same again. By the following February 2002 the real game plan will have become obvious to us and though it may not then be part of public consciousness we can expect to see our external enemies expand as they are supported by China though they will remain hidden from view until it is time to strike. This is the Sino/Islamic alliance.

The Moon Gnaymel: Bonatti's Third, Fourth, Fifth & 143rd Considerations

Bonatti's Third, Fourth, Fifth & 143rd Considerations comprise a kind of epitome of an epitome of Medieval Horary (and to some degree of Natal Astrology). Close study of these Considerations is time well spent which results in ellucidation of what Bonatti calls "The True Method" of judging the astrological figure. This having been said let us examine the above cited Considerations:

"The Third Consideration is to consider how many ways Planets operate upon Inferior Bodies according to the diverse Qualities of their motions: there being sixteen different ways of such their operations and effects in all things that are either wholly or in part perfected or destroyed."

"The Fourth is to consider particularly these several 16 ways, and what are the assisting causes that help forward things to perfection, and what there are that destroy things after they are perfected."

He then lists:

1. Profection (Alchecohol), an advance of or in things.
    I. e. When a Planet as Significator is angular or succeedent[i]. A Significator so placed (all other things being equal) seeks naturally to perfect the matter.

2. Detriment (Aliber)
The Significator is in a sign 7 from its own. Bonatti calls this the planet's fall in Consideration #75 and elswehere throughout the book.

3. Conjunction or Reversion (Alitifel)
Applying Aspectual or Corporal Conjunction or double applying conjunction between a direct planet and one who has passed it, gone retrograde and now re-applies through retrograde motion.

"It is the esse (lit. "being." Astrologically we may take it as "condition") of the Planets toward each other, namely corporal or aspectual conjunction or application which Alchabitius calls Alitifel or "continuation." Corporal conjunction is when a planet is joined to another planet in the same sign. Aspectual conjunction is when two planets are in two different signs aspecting each other with a trine, sextile, or square aspect and the lighter planet applies to the completion of the aspect.

4. Separation (Alnichirat)
This is when a faster planet passes a slower one. The separation consists in the two having been and the faster one then proceeding to the next degree. This is the separation.

5. Translation of Light (Annecad)[ii]
If a lighter planet were joined to an heavier one while the lighter were in one of the heavier planet's dignities, the heavier planet would translate or commit its nature and disposition to the lighter one which would then carry it with itself until it were joined to another planet in one of its [the lighter planet's] dignities.

6. Collection (Algemei)
Abu Ma'shar says[iii] "'Collection' is if two or more planets apply to one planet situated in its place: then it collects their light and receives their natures."

Wilson tells us [iv] "Collection of Light is when a planet receives the rays of two others less ponderous than itself, and which are inconjunct with each other. This, in horary questions, signifies that the business will be completed by the interference of a third person without whose aid it could not have taken place. It is said, however, that if they do not both receive him in some of their essential dignities, he will feel no interest in the affair, nor will it be prosperous."
